"Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves" (Philippians 2:3). We believe in supporting and engaging in many types of mission.
With the gifts He has given us, we can each find a place to use those gifts.
We invite you to serve alongside us!
Through the PC(USA) and in partnership with others, we participate in many foreign mission endeavors and are always seeking to contribute to and participate in advancing the message of God’s love and justice throughout the world.
Some of the ways we participate include Presbyterian Disaster Assistance and One Great Hour of Sharing.
Domestically, PC USA has a ministry called Presbyterian Peacemaking Program to help transform cultures of violence to cultures of peace. We also have been a huge supporter of the REACH Workcamps and have sent numerous youth members to camps to help and learn the Word of God.
We have strong ties into our local community. We help those around us in numerous ways. These include Cancer Support Group, Vassar Food Pantry, Vassar Emergency Fund, Backpack Program, WIC and Immunizations, Diaper Drives, and more!
One of the best ways to demonstrate a mission to our own congregation is to hold bible and book studies at various times throughout the year. Our deacons are busy reaching out to those in need from our shut-ins to funeral dinners, and our elders are busy working on various committees to make sure we are helping the church and body of Christ to grow.
